A Snapshot into a Press Commission

We really enjoy undertaking press and PR commissions – those where the aim of the photograph is to tell a story that will promote a company or message.  As the Managing Director, I rarely get time to go on the commissions with one of Vervate’s media photographers, but I love to do so when I can.  I get real pride and enjoyment from watching them work and seeing all those years of experience as press photographers really showing its worth.  The photographers and myself also love the access these commissions give you to such a wide range of people and places.

Here is a window into a commission my iPhone and I sneaked out of the office to the other day.  It was a short and sharp job (it’s important not to keep staff from their work for too long), on behalf of Brighton & Hove Chamber of Commerce to promote Living Wage week.  Local business and Living Wage employer Brewdog agreed to be photographed.

Here is Simon Dack, senior photographer with Vervate taking a few shots of all the staff after asking them to sit on the bar!  Brighton Chamber staff member Grace organised the shoot and watches on to the right.

Here is the same scenario in a different part of the pub.  Simon can spot where to take these kind of photographs almost in seconds because of his 35 years experience.  It is no where near as simple as it may look!

Using professional media photographers like Simon can create a huge amount of PR and publicity for you.  Can’t think of a hook or a story – give Susi a shout!
